The Flash Season 2: 13 Big Questions We're Asking After 'Welcome To Earth-2'

Doppel...gänger!

When it was first announced that The Flash would be introducing Earth-2 during Season 2, there was a lot of excitement, because of the potential a trip there would offer. It's been building up to it all season, with various characters making their way through to Earth-1, and now Barry, Cisco, and us viewers get to visit the other Earth. It did not disappoint. This was the most fun The Flash has been in ages, and one of the very best episodes the show has produced to date. After a little bit of setup in the opening minutes, the show went off like a speed cannon, and didn't stop to look back once. Action, humour, drama, romance, doppelgängers galore, and Jesse L. Martin getting to show off his pipes; this episode had it all. Throw in countless comic book references, delight for West-Allen shippers everywhere, the original Flash in action, and Big Bad Zoom becoming interesting again, and this episode zipped by quicker than the titular hero, leaving us excited, but with lots of questions.

13. What Do The Images In The Portal Mean?

The Flash sure does love teasing the audience while travelling in some sort of portal, be it back in time or between dimensions. The Season 1 finale gave us, among other things, a glimpse of Killer Frost, which pays off in this episode, so I wonder what the images seen here mean? There's an alternative version of Green Arrow, which is perhaps our first look at Connor Hawke? Or could it be the older version of Oliver Queen? Both are set to appear on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, much like Jonah Hex, who was also glimpsed here. There was an appearance from Grodd, so could that be setting up a return for him - and a trip to Gorilla City - somewhere down the line? We also had John Wesley Shipp's Flash from the 90s - an Easter egg, or a hint of more to come from Barry's dad? And what about the ring, which belongs to the Legion of Super-Heroes, a team of heroes from the 30th and 31st Century. Will they be showing up on one of the shows? The biggest one, in terms of what we know, was Melissa Benoist's Supergirl. It's already been revealed there will be a crossover between the two shows (imagine how crazy this would've been if it hadn't...), but what does this mean for their relation in terms of the overall universe, and which one Supergirl belongs in?
