12. And What About The Names On Barry's Speed-Dial?
Man, how long have the writers been saving all this stuff up? Normally there'll be a few references, but there was an absolute firestorm of Easter eggs in this episode, and clearly the people behind it were having a lot of fun making it. One of the best, although easy to miss on first watch, is the list of names on Barry and Iris' speed-dial. Bruce? Hal? Diana? All pretty normal names in most other shows, but not when it's one in the DC universe. They do, of course, reference Bruce Wayne, Hal Jordan, and Diana Prince, aka Batman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman. Harmless Easter eggs, or could they mean something more? Does this mean that, at the very least, those characters exist in this world, even if we'll never see them? While it'd be almost impossible to include Batman or Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan has been teased multiple times on both Arrow and The Flash now - could that eventually lead somewhere? Oh, and what about that other name: Eddie. As in Thawne, surely? What is he up to on Earth-2?
