The Flash Season 2: 8 Ups And 3 Downs From 'Rupture'
5. The Particle Accelerator Accident
The way that Rupture handled the actual particle accelerator accident itself was phenomenal.
After Barry decides that he has to give Wells’ plan a try in order to somehow get his powers back and stop Zoom, the imagery and visuals of the whole thing looked stunning. Granted, the incident itself didn’t work out all that well for Barry, with him seemingly “dead” as a result of this always-ropey plan, but as a last 10 minutes, the show delivered something hugely memorable.
Sure, we all know that Barry is likely about as dead as Oliver Queen was during Arrow’s third season – y’know after Ra’s al Ghul ran him through with a blade and kicked him off a huge clifftop, only for Ollie to be alive and well by the next episode? – but The Flash sure as hell made Barry’s apparent demise look great, and the accompanying performances from all of the talent present, such as Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh and John Wesley Shipp, were pitch perfect.
