The Flash Season 2: 9 Things You Need To Know About Killer Frost

7. Her Powers Come From A Deliberately Sabotaged Experiment

Through all of the versions of the character, the origins have remained relatively the same: a woman is trapped in some sort of thermafrost chamber and develops cryokinesis as a result. For Caitlin Snow in particular, though, there€™s a few added wrinkles to this story. After being summoned to help finish a thermodynamics engine for a STAR Labs outpost in the Arctic, Snow begins to realize something is off about the facility. While in the engine room, she€™s trapped by the other workers, revealed to be HIVE agents. Ripping off the coolant system and exposing herself to the ice, the newest Killer Frost was born. As the New 52 version of the character, it stands to reason that even though her appearances have been brief so far, it€™s this incarnation of Killer Frost that will serve as the biggest inspiration for the show. Especially since HIVE is so prominent in Arrow at the moment, it would be easy for them to appear on The Flash. Ultimately, when and if Caitlin does manifest her powers, it seems a safe bet that the story will be altered to include the particle accelerator.
