The Flash Season 2: 9 Things You Need To Know About Killer Frost

6. Not Only Can She Produce Cold, She Can Absorb Heat

Killer Frost€™s calling card might be freezing people and creating projectiles out of ice but she is no one-trick pony. Across every incarnation, the real source of her powers is that she€™s able to absorb heat and turn it into cold, strengthening herself and weakening others in the process. Her most modern self feels these effects much more drastically, operating like a heat vampire. She craves the warmth and seeks to take it from anyone she can, creating a much more unstable, violent villain, one who would drain the life from innocent bystanders rather than simply freeze them. The best villains are often a dark inversion on the heroes they face, so it makes sense why Killer Frost, like Captain Cold, pairs up so nicely against The Flash. Though cold and speed don€™t obviously go together, her ability to slow things down and drain away heat immediately counteracts the inertia and speed that The Flash is famous for, thus making her a dynamic opposite.
