The Flash Season 2: 11 Big Questions We're Asking After 'The Reverse-Flash Returns'
5. Does This Mean Jay's Remaining Powerless All Season?
Jay Garrick, the original Flash, still doesn't have any speed. Because of that, he's dying, and now that the whole doppelgänger idea has proven to be a bust, the only way for him to get his speed back - and thus live - is by defeating Zoom. The masked villain is taking a bit of a break right now - even villains need a holiday, and running in the cold can be tough - and regardless of when the show does get back to him, it's going to be a while yet before there's any sort of resolution. After all we're only around the halfway mark of the season, and if he's the major villain then it won't be over until the final couple of episodes. So does that mean we're going to spend a whole season with Jay Garrick having no speed? It's already forgotten about him an awful lot anyway, but the promise of him getting back to being the Flash keeps him interesting. Now apparently we can just write that off as well, unless there's a major breakthrough or twist in the next few weeks.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
