The Flash burnt through a lot of bad-guys in a short space of time at the beginning of its run, with various villains-of-the-week popping up for one-off appearances. Although the most memorable are those who stayed around a bit longer, the likes of Captain Cold and Reverse-Flash, the use of weekly foes can still be an effective one, and there's set to be plenty of new enemies for Barry and the team to face this year.

First up in the season premiere will be Atom-Smasher, who'll be played by Adam Copeland, otherwise known as WWE's Rated-R Superstar Edge. In the comics he can change his atomic structure, allowing him to grow to great sizes, with his strength growing too. He could well be a pretty big foe for The Flash to take on.

Other new villains are set to include Lewis Snart, father of Captain Cold and played by Michael Ironside, while both Mirror Master and Doctor Alchemy have been teased by producer Andrew Kreisberg. The female version of Doctor Light, also known as Dr Kimiyo Hoshi - who was mentioned by Cisco and Caitlin in Arrow season 2 - will show up too, although it's unknown if she'll be more of a hero, like the comic character, or a villain like the original Doctor Light.

There will be another villain whose allegiances are somewhat muddled as well, with The Unit's Demore Barnes playing Henry Hewitt, aka Tokomak. He'll be a metahuman, but is brought in to S.T.A.R. Labs by Caitlin to work with the team.
