The Flash Season 3: 5 Ups And 3 Downs From 'Magenta'

4. Iris Wanting Barry

The Flash Barry Iris

Granted, the date between Iris and Barry may not have exactly gone to plan, but the one good thing to come out of this blossoming romance was that it was made perfectly clear that Iris West wants Barry Allen… not The Flash.

Sure, you could maybe question why it’s taken so long for Iris to see plain ol’ Barry in this light – after all, she’s known him since they were kids – but it was still good to have Iris wanting Barry for just being Barry.

Overall, the date itself and the writing of Barry and Iris’ interaction may have been a tad bungled by the show, but it was at least good to see that Iris was more interested in the regular Barry Allen than the more superpowered side of him. This was something that felt sincere and reassuring in a situation and setting that was soon thrown on its head.
