The Flash Season 3: 5 Ups And 3 Downs From 'Magenta'

2. Barry And Harry

The Flash Harry Wells Barry Allen
The CW

Seeing Tom Cavanagh back as part of The Flash in any way, shape or form is always awesome. Whether that’s as Harrison Wells, Eobard Thawne, Reverse-Flash, or another world’s Wells, Cavanagh is always a mesmerising presence on screen, proving to be a scene-stealer of the highest order with pretty much anything that the show gives him.

One thing that Tom Cavanagh always brings with him, too, is some fantastic chemistry with Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes, and Jesse L. Martin. Here, though, it’s his moments with Gustin’s Barry Allen that really shine.

In fact, you could describe Barry and Harry as kindred spirits in Magenta. Harry is dealing with the problems of his daughter now becoming a speedster, whilst Barry has the weight of the world on his shoulders as Doctor Alchemy’s presence continues to loom large whilst the Scarlet Speedster is still dealing with Flashpoint and its ramifications, not least the problems surrounding Wally West.

As such, we were given a brilliant scene between the two as they looked to each other as a shoulder to lean on as they both tried to unburden themselves and make sense of their own situations.
