The Flash Season 3: 7 Easter Eggs & References You Might've Missed In 'Paradox'

5. John Diggle Jr.

The Flash Paradox Easter Eggs
The CW

Felicity makes the latest of many The Flash cameos here, as Barry unloads on her during a trip to the Arrowcave. While there, he finds out that his meddling in time has resulted in Diggle having a different child – he doesn’t have a daughter called Sara anymore but a son called John.

Viewers of Legends of Tomorrow will know that this change has wider ramifications, seeing as John Diggle Jr. has appeared on that show before. In season one episode Star City 2046, The Waverider arrives in the future to find Oliver Queen missing an arm and the mantle of Green Arrow taken up by Connor Hawke. It later turns out that he is actually Diggle’s son. This was itself a reference to the comics, where Connor Hawke is Oliver’s son instead.

This is a fascinating Easter egg, as it suggests that the Legends had visited a later point in this current post-Flashpoint timeline rather than the previous timeline that was intact at the time. If you see what I mean.

After finding this out, Felicity exclaims: “Oh my God, it really can affect us!” This has got to be a wry jab at the many fans who have been eager to know whether Arrow would be altered by Flashpoint at all. Well, there's your answer, guys.
