3. Finally Some Answers

The Flash loves a good mystery. Ever since it began, it has had viewers on the edges of their seats, trying to work out the identity of this villain or figure out the solution to that problem. This year, however, there are two mysteries that need solving. The first, is the identity of Cicada, and the second revolves around Nora's arrival in the present and, more importantly, her relationship with her mother Iris.

'News Flash' finally gave us some answers to both of these mysteries. While Sherloque Wells and Ralph Dibny were busy with one (more on that later), Iris and Nora were finally confronting each other and, after all the tension in the world had mounted, it was revealed that future Iris had put a power-dampening chip in Nora to suppress her speed.

The reveal was nothing short of shocking and it left Iris speechless, unable to understand why she would ever do such a thing. However, it was the shock we had all been waiting for since the beginning of the season and it helps us empathise with Nora a little more, who was, up until this point, becoming intolerable when she was around her mother.

This also provided the writers with the chance to do something we have all been hoping to see...
