3. An Easter Egg (And A Tease) Of Icy Proportions

When Caitlin found her father, he opened up about his cryogenic experiments and listed some of the names that he had kept in contact with, even namedropping Harrison Wells. However, that wasn't the only recognisable name he mentioned, as he also spoke of Victor Fries. Of course, DC Comics instantly recognised that as the real name of Batman villain Mr. Freeze.

In the comics, Fries, who underwent a continuity change thanks to his more popular Batman: The Animated Series origins, attempted to save his dying wife, Nora Fries, but his cryogenic experiments ended up turning him into Mr. Freeze.

While a Batman Easter Egg like this would make us gleeful on any occasion, it carries a little extra weight this time because of its link to the upcoming Arrowverse crossover. The crossover, titled Elseworlds, is set to feature Fries' wife, Nora - portrayed by Cassandra Jean (the wife of Arrow's Stephen Amell). While we don't know if Freeze himself will appear, the namedrop was certainly one heck of a way to create anticipation. Nicely played, CW!
