The Flash Season 5: 4 Ups & 3 Downs From ‘Time Bomb’

Let's be honest, the vast majority of us knew that Nora's secret was going to be revealed this week. Snippets of the closing scene were heavily featured in the episode's promotional material and, even if you were lucky enough to avoid all that, it became clear early on that Nora had no choice but to tell the truth. What we weren't expecting was for Sherloque Wells to take center stage and reveal it for her.

The master detective iteration of Harrison Wells from Earth-221 had been investigating her all season, basing his research on one statement that he managed to decode from her journal: "The timeline is malleable". While he provided Team Flash with humorous outbursts in public, he had secretly been studying Nora with extreme detail. His investigation didn't bear fruit right away but you can't say he wasn't persistent.

This week, however, Sherloque absolutely shined. Realising that Thawne had written the words "The timeline is malleable" on the specs for his time-travel sphere (the very same sphere that Grace had used), he was able to follow a trail that eventually allowed him to confirm his suspicions and ultimately enable him to assist Nora in her confession to Team Flash.

Sherloque has always spoke of his brilliance, but this week he really proved it. This didn't feel like a character around merely to provide us with some comic relief. No, this was a master detective in his element, showcasing how good he actually is and, if anything, it proves that if Eobard is up to something, then he should be worried about his own doppelganger's involvement.

Bravo Sherloque, bravo!
