The Flash Season 5: 5 Ups & 1 Down From ‘The Death Of Vibe’
4. Going Back To The Wells
On paper, the introduction of another Harrison Wells sounded like a very bad idea. After all, there have already been three major iterations (not to mention countless cameos from other versions), so did we really need another one? The answer to that question is probably still "No", but that doesn't change the fact that Tom Cavanagh absolutely killed it in the latest episode.
After the team figured out that they couldn't defeat Cicada, they turned to the one man that they knew could help them (or at least one of the many versions of him). However, this time, they recruited the greatest detective in the multiverse, who was simply known as Sherloque Wells.
With his diva-like behaviour, large fee requests and talk about his many ex-wives, this Wells is nothing short of a hoot. He's incredibly arrogant and not very likeable, but given that even the evil Reverse-Flash/Harrison Wells from Season 1 was likeable, this could make for an interesting change in dynamic. Moreover, Cavanagh performed every single eccentricity with perfection, reminding us that the show doesn't feel complete without at least one Harrison Wells.
It was also a nice touch that it was Nora's idea this time around, suggesting that the team still see Earth-2's Harry as their definitive Wells and thus, never tried to replace him.
