The Flash Season 5: 6 Major Questions After The Midseason Premiere

5. Will Cisco Retire Vibe?

Since The Flash's second season, Cisco Ramon has had a kind of dual-importance to the show. On one hand, he is Team Flash's trusty wiz kid who guides Barry to victory and innovates exceptional new gadgets, while on the other, he is the superhero known as Vibe, who can always be called upon to use his vibing abilities whenever Central City needs him.

But, in 'The Flash And The Furious', he inexplicably decided that he no longer wanted to be a metahuman and, in extension, no longer wanted to be a superhero. Granted, the sudden change of heart seemed quite out of character for the nerdy champion of fellow superheroes and bestower of names, but it's what we've been led to believe he truly feels so we'll roll with it... for now.

This new outlook on metahumans inspired him to look into the possibility of creating a cure for all metas that he could effectively use on himself. However, whether or not he and Caitlin are successful, we can't help but wonder if, one way or another, this will lead to the end of his days as Vibe.

From his break-up with Gypsy to his injury in the field, the writers have paid a lot more attention to Cisco's emotional journey this season and, after facing the death of Vibe once already, maybe it's time for him to lay down his fancy goggles and gauntlets once and for all.
