The Flash Season 5: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Godspeed'
5. So Many Callbacks
As Nora's backstory revolved around the origins of a speedster, 'Godspeed' decided to take a page out of the origins of the show's most famous speedster, Barry Allen himself. As a result, there were plenty of little nods to the pilot episode as Nora ended up experiencing life as a metahuman in a way that was all too similar to her own father's first experience as a speedster.
Getting severely hurt by lightning, waking up to the sound of Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face', speeding into the back of a laundry van - all of it reminded us of a time when life was simpler for Barry and, in doing so, helped us realise how Nora was feeling at that point in time. Even the fact that Thawne recited his classic "feel the wind on your face" speech was a perfect reminder of what life is like for a newbie speedster.
Little things can make or break an episode and, in this case, it was definitely the former.
