The Flash Season 5: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Godspeed'

4. Godspeed Looks Great

The Flash Season 5 Godspeed
The CW

Over the years, The Flash has introduced a who's who of classic speedsters to oppose and antagonise the Scarlet Speedster. From Reverse-Flash to Savitar, Barry Allen has overcome the best (or should that be worst) that the DC Universe had to offer and, as a result, he can still call himself the Fastest Man Alive.

Having said all that, there was one character that, up until this point, had yet to show his face, one that fans had been hoping to see for almost the entirety of the show's run - Godspeed. Well, after four years, five seasons and 110 episodes, Godspeed finally made his live-action debut in this week's self-titled adventure.

In the weeks leading up to the episode, there was concern over whether or not The CW series could pull off the character's rather complex look. Thankfully, those concerns were put to rest when he finally appeared in all his glory.

With white lightning radiating all over his body, Godspeed looked as demonic as his comic book counterpart with his face-covering helmet-like mask. His costume was rather comic-accurate too and, on that note, it was refreshing to see that there were quite a lot of changes made to the show's traditional speedster uniform in a bid to set him apart from previous speedsters (though there were some recognisable similarities).

While there were issues with how the character was handled (more on that later), he certainly looked the part.
