The Flash Season 5 Finale: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Legacy'

4. Tom Cavanagh's Performance

Tom Cavanagh is, without a doubt, one of The Flash's comedic gems as he has had no problem using all of his versions of Harrison Wells to make viewers chuckle over the course of the show's five-season run. However, the moment that he dons the Reverse-Flash persona, he is nothing short of chilling.

While the fifth season has given us all another chance to see Thawne's softer side, as he genuinely seemed to care for Nora (much like he did with Barry, Cisco and Caitlin in Season 1), the finale allowed Cavanagh to deliver the performance that we had all been waiting for.

With dead eyes and an unnerving whisper, he was more captivating than ever and, as Eobard explained how he managed to pull off this unbelievable feat, it was impossible to take your eyes off him.

In a single scene, Cavanagh reminded viewers why no Big Bad has ever come close to touching the perfection of his Reverse-Flash.

He always wins, Flash.
