The Flash Season 5 Premiere: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Nora'
3. The New Suit
When it was revealed that Barry Allen would be getting a new suit this season, a lot of fans weren't thrilled about the idea. After all, the Scarlet Speedster had just recently donned the brighter more comic-accurate suit in last season's premiere, so it kind of felt redundant to introduce another new one so soon.
Things got worse when a leaked set photo sent the internet into a meltdown because it didn't portray the suit in the best light and this had many worried that it would be a major step backwards for the show.
We finally got to see the new suit in all its glory during the Season 5 premiere and, thankfully, all of those worries were put to rest. It's undoubtedly a neater fit and the lack of a chinstrap is rather jarring, but it's an upgrade that manages to hold onto everything that made the original suits a success while completely setting itself apart.
In many ways, the Season 5 premiere almost felt like a soft reboot that promises to take the show in an exciting new direction, and in order for it to really take off, Barry needed a new suit. Much like he did with the previous suits, Grant Gustin has no problem rocking the new outfit as Barry Allen looks more heroic than he ever did.
