Last season we saw Killer Frost receive some well-earned respect when she became Team Flash's secret weapon in the fight against Cicada. This season, however, we're learning that she's more than just a heavy-hitter.

Her refusal to come out because she was quietly upset about being unable to have a life inside Caitlin's body was a real change-of-pace for the show, and while not saving Caitlin didn't really make sense (neither of them would've had a life had she died), it paved the way for some compelling character-driven drama.

But the strong writing in regards to the character over the past year has made this transition a believable one - and thanks to Danielle Panabaker's moving performances, we as viewers can't help but empathize with both Caitlin and Frost.

This is definitely an unexpectedly intriguing arc, and it's going to be interesting to see how it progresses going forward.
