The Flash Season 6: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

6. Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man

The Flash Killer Frost
The CW

In many ways, Ralph Dibny has been The Flash's answer to Marmite; you either love him or you hate him. And as hard as this writer tried to like him, his arrival in Central City back in Season 4 had many viewers doing the latter - the reason being that he never felt endearing enough to be a regular part of the show and his humour also brought with it an undesirable corniness.

Nevertheless, The Flash persisted as Ralph continued to progress into one of the show's better developed characters, rediscovering his conscience while forming new friendships that the Ralph Dibny of old could never have dreamed of. He's softened over time and his humour has gotten a little less in-your-face - and even when it is OTT, it's still funny. Why? Because we finally care about him enough to laugh at it.

The truth is that Ralph shone brighter than ever in Season 6. Maybe it was the fact that the writers returned him to his private investigator roots - which ironically didn't work in Season 4 - or maybe it's just his great chemistry with the long-teased Sue Dearbon, but the fact the matter is that Ralph Dibny (a.k.a. the Elongated Man) finally feels like a fully lovable part of the show. And both Hartley Sawyer and the writers deserve major credit for finally pulling it off.
