The Flash Season 6 Review: 3 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang'
Ups...
3. Spotlight For Kamilla (And Her Relationship With Cisco)
If you've been following these reviews, you'll know that this writer has had a love-hate relationship with the show's handling of Kamilla Hwang thus far. In the premiere, she felt more relevant than ever, as she was actively involved in Cisco's life and, by extension, actively involved in his escapades with Team Flash. But ever since, she's felt even less relevant than she was before, rarely showing up before disappearing altogether. Thankfully, 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' made up for that.
As the episode primarily focused on Cisco's reaction to Gypsy's death, he constantly thought about how much his relationship with his ex-girlfriend changed him into the man that he is today - the man that can be completely open with Kamilla. That proved to be a driving force of the episode, as he attempted to figure out how to tell her that he loved her - and for the first time, we were allowed to see all the reasons why he loved her.
Kamilla wasn't standing idly by here - quite the opposite, in fact. Never shying away from any of the multiverse madness, she accompanied Cisco to the crime scene, cradled him when he struggled and helped him figure out why he no longer had faith in himself - reminding him why he should. An active leading lady for this episode through and through, Victoria Park shined here, and it's left us hoping that the writers continue to give her great material like this going forward.
After this episode, it was clear that Cisco wasn't the only one who had fallen in love with Kamilla - we, as viewers, had too.
More of this, please.
