The Flash Season 6 Review: 3 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang'
1. Killing Gypsy
As strong as the subsequent Cisco-centric arc was, something just didn't sit right with this writer given that they felt the need to kill off a once-major character in Gypsy to do it, and it was made even worse by the fact that it happened off-screen.
Sure, this suggests that Jessica Camacho wasn't available to film, but if anything, the writers should have taken this as a sign not to move forward with this storyline.
The Earth-19 bounty hunter was one of the show's most beloved recurring characters, and her relationship with Cisco was undoubtedly one of the Arrowverse's healthiest. Their mutual decision to end their relationship was appropriately heartbreaking, but that shouldn't all of a sudden make the character expendable.
No matter what way you look at it, The Flash killed off Gypsy for no reason other than to further Cisco's storyline, and they really should have learned from Arrow that this is a terrible idea. And what makes it even worse is that, like with Arrow, it will ultimately amount to nothing. Cisco will move on from the Barry storyline as soon as Barry himself cheats death once more, so really: What was the point?
Gypsy deserved better.
Now, for the positives...
