Down...

You know who wasn't aware of the zombie outbreak taking place metres above his head? Nash Wells. And you know why he wasn't aware of that? Well, only because he was still busy looking at the wall of Eternium that held the secret gateway to The Monitor's realm. Oh yeah, and he had suddenly started engaging in a conversation with Mar Novu. A bit sudden, no?

Anyways, the point is that Wells should have remained unaware of the zombie outbreak because, like we said, he was in the tunnels underground still admiring that gateway. But he was made very aware of it by the fact that he was confronted by one of Ramsey's 'Blood Brothers'. And following that, he would be joined by a whole lot more.

Now, why on earth would good old Ramsey Rosso send multiple zombies into the tunnels underground when the people he wanted to 'cure' were on the surface? Was he expecting to find a horde of them in the tunnels?

You might be able to make a case for one zombie unwittingly finding its way to Nash, but a whole army? No, that was simply a contrivance in order to make Wells think that the energy wave that saved him was caused by The Monitor - so that he could changed his opinion of the celestial being.

Now, for the positives...
