The Flash Season 6 Review: 6 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Last Temptation Of Barry Allen, Pt. 2'

Ups...

6. The Horror Movie Elements

The Flash Cecile Horton
The CW

An episode in which the city was overrun by mindless 'Blood Brothers' provided the show with a perfect opportunity to do a deep dive into some darker elements that it would normally steer clear of.

From the endless shots of long, dark hallways to the dimly lit cave walls that cast dark shadows of slow-moving zombies, the overall presentation was like that of a horror movie and, as unorthodox as it sounds for an episode of the notoriously light-hearted Flash, it worked to perfection.

Adding to that was the clever utilisation of Cecile's abilities, as she could feel the fear of everyone around her (including the zombies), which made her and Kamilla's subplot of survival all the more engaging. And it's little things like these that go a long way in providing an episode of this nature with the gripping, edge-of-seat feeling it requires.
