The Flash Season 6 Review: 6 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Last Temptation Of Barry Allen, Pt. 2'
1. The Crisis Has Arrived
Much like Arrow's final season, The Flash has spent the better part of its current offering building towards the inevitable Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover. Though the former show has been equally concerned with the world-changing event, there's an even greater heaviness on The Flash due to the fact that the Crisis all started on it.
Well, after five years of warnings, diversions and timeline-changing, Barry Allen sat with his loved ones seconds before the skies turned red and, together, they reminisced on the good old days. And it goes without saying that this was a moment that the characters needed, because it gave them all a chance to emotionally prepare for what's about to come next while also giving us, as viewers, an authentic portrayal of how they're all coping with it.
But, just like that, the thunder came, the skies turned red and, after five years of building towards it, the Crisis had arrived. A fantastic mix of emotional and sombre, the episode's closing scene was a great method of ushering in the event we had all been waiting for and now, nothing will ever be the same.
