The Flash Season 6 Review: 6 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Last Temptation Of Barry Allen, Pt. 2'

2. Bloodwork Is (Visually) Born Before His Defeat

When non-comic book fans googled Bloodwork in an attempt to find out who they'd be meeting in Season 6, they were undoubtedly greeted by, well, not what they were expecting. It's true that the comics' fleshy monster wouldn't have been able to provide us with the deep emotional character arc that Sendhil Ramamurthy's Ramsey inevitably gave us and, what with the Arrowverse preserving its budget for Crisis, it made sense to streamline their version of Bloodwork.

That being said, it was a pleasant surprise to see Ramsey transform into the gigantic creature as one last ditch effort to defeat The Flash. Looming there over Barry with his blade outstretched, he had viewers in awe because the show only went and pulled it off.

Not only did he look surprisingly great (and terrifying), the Bloodwork monster benefited from the writing as the less-is-more approach made it stand out. Too much of that would have worn thin too soon, so this was a nice little treat for the comic book fans before the show finished with the character.
