The Flash Season 6 Review: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Marathon'

1. Harry And Jesse's Deaths

The Flash Harry Jesse Wells
The CW

The decision to kill off any major character was always going to be a controversial one, but doing it in such off-the-cuff fashion completely reduced the emotional impact that Harry and Jesse Wells' apparent deaths ultimately had. After all, we had been waiting weeks to find out whether or not they were still alive (after Earth-2 was wiped out by antimatter) and we were never given that answer. And now we find out that they did die and that all that pre-Crisis waiting was for nothing?

These two long-standing semi-regular characters were among the best that The Flash had ever given us, and for the show to take them from us off-screen - following Gypsy's equally unnecessary off-screen death earlier in the season - was completely uncalled for.

We were supposed to feel shocked or heartbroken, but instead, this writer was just left feeling disappointed.

Now, for the positives...
