The Flash Season 6 Review: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'The Last Temptation Of Barry Allen, Pt. 1'

4. Facing The Facts

Barry Allen wasn't the only character who we had yet to see process the incoming Crisis, as his beloved wife Iris was so steadfast in her approach to support him that she never allowed herself to accept the fact that she was about to lose him. But, much as she tried, there was no running from it when she was faced with the same newspaper article that had been staring her in the face for the past five years - the only difference this time was that she had to write it.

It was hard not to find yourself getting emotional as Iris began typing, her words revealed to us via an emotional voiceover, as she reminisced about how how she was instantly taken with the red superhero and even reminded readers of how she once called him The Streak.

It isn't easy to condense five years of selfless heroics into a few short paragraphs, but Iris pulled it off in rather eloquent fashion. And in doing so, she finally began to accept the fact that she was about to lose her hero, her Flash, her husband. The gravity of the situation had set in - for her and for us.

It's the quietly emotional moments that make all the difference, and this was a beauty.
