The Flash Season 6 Review: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Grodd Friended Me'
6. The Lingering Changes From Crisis
Given that the Arrowverse shows have a knack for quickly wrapping up long-running narratives without leaving room for aftermath, you'd be forgiven for expecting the same kind of thing from The Flash's post-Crisis era. But that couldn't have been further from the truth, as 'Grodd Friended Me' reminded us that those changes are still having an effect on those involved in Crisis simply because they weren't present for the pre-Crisis events of the new timeline.
This didn't just make the unexpected return of a villain like Pied Piper all the more effective, it made time for some incredibly thoughtful moments as Barry was unable to track down his parents' grave.
Moments like this ground these science fiction and fantasy shows in realism, strengthening the characters involved and showing us that sometimes game-changing decisions can have stakes.
Good on the writers for continually referencing these changes, and good on Chester for helping Barry find Nora and Henry's grave.
