The Flash Season 6 Review: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Grodd Friended Me'

3. Continually Improved CGI

The Flash Season 6 Grodd
The CW

Look, we've all written essays about how, Game Of Thrones aside, CGI on television will never match the standard of big-screen productions. It's a fact, and it's one that we've all had to accept at some point or another. And while The CW's superhero shows have struggled with convincing CGI in the past, they've also surprised audiences with some unexpectedly impressive visuals.

'Grodd Friended Me' proved to be the latter, as the CGI for Grodd was particularly impressive. Though, much like we saw in the Season 3 episode 'Attack On Gorilla City', the special effects weren't as convincing when it came to Solovar, it's clear that the team are continuing their upward trajectory when it comes to making Grodd look as majestic as he looked in the first season.

Was it as visually strong as last season's 'King Shark vs, Gorilla Grodd'? No. But it was a solid follow-up and those scenes with Grodd emitting The Flash's lightning were nothing short of, well, electrifying.
