6. What's Your Next Move, June?

After the events of last week's episode, June is still trapped in the middle of nowhere. With no trace of help inside, the handmaid has no other option but to come up with a plan to keep herself safe - which proves incredibly difficult as she's heavily pregnant.

Moments of despair like this one can often be depicted in the wrong way on screen. How many movies have had their protagonist just happen to stumble upon the answer to their problems at the most convenient moment? Well, The Handmaid's Tale subverts this trend, and plays the action out in a completely believable way. Every time June thinks she's solved her problem, she encounters another obstacle that wasn't there before. It never feels contrived as all of the obstacles occur naturally - as they would in real life.

While it wasn't the most exciting episode the hit Hulu series has ever done, the tension - both June's and ours - was very much present the entire way throughout.
