2. The CGI Isn't Great

As well-made as the show is for the most part, the one single aspect of the production that falls a little short is the visual effects.

Thankfully Flanagan employs complex and elaborate CGI fairly sparsely throughout the show, but most of the time it ends up looking pretty cheap and, as a result, unintentionally silly.

From digital kittens to insects crawling out of people's faces and "grotesque" effects of people decaying before our very eyes, it's just not up to the high standard of the cinematography, production design and pretty much every other aspect of the series.

It's not a deal-breaker by any means, but clearly those Netflix bucks should've produced more consistent VFX than this.
