Though the movies made it clear that the Elves and Dwarves don't have the best relationship in Tolkien's world, this likely won't be the case in the Rings Of Power series.

At the time and region the rings of power were forged, the Elves and Dwarves had a fantastic relationship. The clan of Elves that had settled right beside the great Dwarven Kingdom Khazad-dûm were made up of smiths, and they fostered trade, shared creation, and great relations with each other at the height of their power.

Their relationship was flourishing so much that Celebrimbor (the Elf who forged many of the rings) helped create the hidden door seen in the Jackson films, The Doors Of Durin, which opened to the Elvish word for "Friend". He constructed it with the Dwarven smith Narvi, so that the Elves of Eregion and the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm could travel freely between the realms.

It was through these doors that many Elven refugees escaped when Sauron's forces overtook Eregion. The Dwarves, attacking Sauron's forces from the rear, were able to rescue many Elves from Eregion's destruction, afterwards shutting the doors behind them forever to lock out Sauron's siege.
