The Mandalorian: 10 Facts You Didn't Know About The Razor Crest

1. The Ship Is Tied To Lots Of Easter Eggs And Callbacks From The Franchise

The Mandalorian is full of callbacks and references to other Star Wars properties. The show's creators and directors appear to be having a blast with these, many of which involve the Razor Crest:

- During one exterior scene of the ship, the Rebel 'Starbird' symbol can be seen in the ship's exhaust;

- One character compares the ship to a 'Canto Bight slot machine.' Canto Bight was the gambling planet from The Last Jedi, a planet that, at the time of The Mandalorian, would be in rough shape. Canto Bight prospered on building weapons, and when there's no war between Imperials and Rebels, there's no profit being made;

- The ship contains a small scale carbonite chamber, first made famous by another Mandalorian in The Empire Strikes Back. The racks on the ship also contain several frozen bounties;

- Several weapons in the hidden arsenal have appeared in other Star Wars properties, tying together different timelines and locations;

- While landing on Trask, the graphic for the entry point into the atmosphere looked like the Death Star, laser dish and all;

- Screens and controls are boxy and chunky like the original trilogy;

- In a cool nod to another franchise, a DL-21 blaster in the ship's arsenal has a muzzle like those on the Daleks in '70s version of Dr. Who.
