1. She Was The Last To Wield The Darksaber Before Gideon

Previously mentioned, Katan was gifted the Darksaber by Sabine Wren and declared Mand'alor by the people. With the clans united and the constant resistance by the Mandalorian people against the Empire, Palpatine and the Empire eventually execute the Great Purge.

This event was an attempt at genocide against the Mandalorian people, with Kryze and a handful of allies barely escaping with their lives. Sometime during this conflict Katan lost the Darksaber, with the weapon ending up with the Empire and more specifically Moff Gideon.

During the events of Chapter 11 of the Mandalorian, Katan interrogates a member of the Empire over the whereabouts of the weapon. She has a history with Gideon, which will likely be relived when the two eventually cross paths again.
