7. She Fought In The Great Purge
As mentioned in Chapter 11 of the Mandalorian, Katan fought in the Great Purge. Not only that, she also led Mandalore at this time in the battle against the Empire.
Katan opposed the occupation of Mandalore by any outsider, which put her and her fellow Mandalorians into conflict with the Empire. When the Empire realised they could not control Mandalore, they decided to try and wipe out all the Mandalorians.
While Kryze and others survived, the majority of the Mandalorian people were not so lucky. The ones who did survive were forced to scatter in order to stay alive, which is why Djarin struggles to find many of his kind during his travels, until he meets Kryze.
The Purge also resulted in the loss of the Darksaber, a powerful weapon tied to Mandalore. It is revealed in the Season 1 finale that Gideon now has possession of the weapon, which he would've taken from Bo-Katan.
