Katan has the Darksaber bestowed upon her by Sabine Wren, as she believes that Kryze is the individual worthy of leading Mandalore. It is revealed that her leadership during the second civil war is noticed by the other clans, who showcase their support.
Through accepting the Darksaber, Katan stakes her claim as the rightful heir of Mandalore, known as the Mand'alor (sole leader of the Mandalorian people). This unites the clans in a resistance against the Empire.
Unfortunately, this eventually leads to the events of the Great Purge, and the near extinction of the Mandalorian people.
