As mentioned earlier, Katan and her sister Satine shared many opposing views in how Mandalore should be governed. This led to Kryze taking her group known as the Nite Owls into an alliance with Death Watch, led by Pre Vizsla.

Vizsla and his group were a terrorist group looking to overthrow Satine and her pacifist government, as they believed that the Mandalorians should be able to return to their ancient roots as warriors. This eventually led to an uneasy alliance with Maul's Shadow Collective, as the three groups ultimately joined forces and took over Mandalore by overthrowing the government.

However, it was after this siege that Maul killed Vizsla and assumed control of Mandalore for himself, leading to Death Watch splitting into two separate factions. A resistance led by Katan was established in the hopes of overthrowing Maul, as they did not believe his claim to the throne to be legitimate.

Kryze's time as a member of Death Watch will forever haunt her, as it led to the death of her sister Satine and a series of conflicts that would leave Mandalore in chaos.
