The Mandalorian: 10 Things We Learned From Star Wars Celebration
5. Tatooine Is A Confirmed Location, With Other Planets Set To Feature
One of the most encouraging trends through all reactions regarding The Mandalorian trailer has been its production quality. For years it was thought that a live action Star Wars TV show would be impossible, with George Lucas' long gestating Star Wars: Underworld failing to get any traction despite dozens of completed scripts, but Favreau's series looks to be proving everyone wrong.
Like all good Star Wars projects, The Mandalorian will spotlight a selection of different planets. Given Jawas and Sandcrawlers have both been confirmed, one can safely assume that the action will be heading to Tatooine at some point. The one shot of Gina Carano's character looks like it takes place within a Mos Eisley interior, and given the tone The Mandalorian is shooting for, it makes sense to root some of its action from within the desert planet's wretched confines.
So far, there's the likely-to-be-Tatooine desert planet and an ice planet that'll feature in the show at the start. The latter is likely to be a brand-new addition to the saga, and given how Hoth, Vandor and Starkiller base are the only three ice planets seen in live action thus far, it's great that The Mandalorian is conscious of making its vistas feel different, and that the scope of the show remains expansive.
