Werner Herzog was a surprise inclusion when casting announcements for The Mandalorian slowly began to make their way online, but the footage has thankfully given us some new details as to his role.

Unlike Weathers, Herzog's character doesn't have a name yet. However, judging from the footage shown it appears as though he is a fan of the Empire and is well connected. Pascal's character meets him in a bar surrounded by Stormtroopers, while Herzog himself also provides narration decrying the disarray that has followed the Empire's collapse.

It is Herzog who sends the Mandalorian on this risky venture, and it seems as though it's a near-impossible exercise. The target he's tasked with bringing down has been on the run for 50 years, and all the Mandalorian has to help him track the suspect down are their last known coordinates and an identification number.
