The Mandalorian 2.2 Review - 4 Ups And 2 Downs

2. The Child's Antics

The Mandalorian Chapter 10 Child Eggs
Lucasfilm

While The Child very much took a back seat in Season 2's debut, they're placed front and centre in Chapter 10. Peyton Reed milks every second he can out of Baby Yoda, resulting in some of the frog-like toddler's finest (albeit potentially disturbing?) moments yet.

First off, seeing The Child fly 30ft in the air after the speeder bike crashes? Terrifying. Absolutely terrifying. In fact, The Child is placed in more peril in this one episode than he was for most of Season 1, whether that was getting held at knifepoint in the beginning or being terrorised by some of those spiders. Fear. Actual fear.

On the upside, The Child also gets up to some high-key rascal behaviour in Chapter 10. Still determined to just... literally eat everything - and with the frog-woman's children being stored in a giant pickle jar - The Child takes any opportunity he can to eat her eggs. On the one hand, the bait-and-switch where you think they're connecting with the eggs themselves through the Force, only to then eat them, is pretty funny. On the other... NO BABY NO!

For those after more of The Mandalorian's breakout star, Chapter 10 will more than suffice. Just... don't dwell on his funny moments long enough to contemplate how they may be helping a species go extinct.
