Like most of the other surprises from this season we totally knew this was coming, but just like those very surprises, knowing about them hasn't diminished their impact.

Ahsoka Tano was Dave Filoni's creation, and he brings her to live action expertly in The Mandalorian Chapter 13. Tano, played by Daredevil actor Rosario Dawson here, does a great job of bringing the character to life. She has all of Ahsoka's familiar mannerisms, and embodies the calm, but slightly resigned version of the character seen from Star Wars Rebels onwards. As with Katee Sackhoff and Lady Bo-Katan, it's like she's walked right off the animated series and into live action.

Filoni does make a few twists with Ahsoka in this episode though. While she is still the same noble warrior fans are so familiar with, this incarnation of the character leans more into the wizard-y - or indeed witch-y - aspects of the Jedi. The opening sequence where she's introduced sees the character move between henchmen like a ghostly spirit, gliding in and out of the fog while strategically activating and deactivating her lightsabers to hide her presence.

This season's Mandalorian has done such a perfect job of introducing characters already established in the wider canon, and Ahsoka is no exception.
