It's hard to say whether this one is legit or just wishful thinking on the part of fans.

Before the launch of the series and during most of season one, the Mandalorian's identity was a closely guarded secret. Despite the producers saying otherwise repeatedly, fans still thought he would end up being Boba Fett. Well, right up until the point he took the helmet off and proved he wasn't.

But the popular character might still be lurking around.

The Mandalorian is set a few years after Return of the Jedi, the movie Boba Fett supposedly died in. When Djarin heads under the township into the hidden lair of the Mandalorians in episode one, he quickly walks past a familiar looking figure. This Mandalorian wears armor very similar in style and color to Boba Fett's. The moment is fleeting but it has fueled fans' hopes that the feared bounty hunter lives.
