The Mandalorian Season 2: 10 Biggest Moments And Reveals In "The Passenger"
7. The New Republic
Unable to travel at lightspeed because it will damage his passenger's eggs, the bounty hunter's fears are realised when the Razor Crest is flagged down by a couple of New Republic X-Wings.
They just want Din Djarin to identity his craft, but he's reluctant, and it soon becomes clear why. As the two ships lock their S foils into attack position, Mando learns that the former Rebels know all about that jailbreak from season one. His ship has been tied to the breakout, and they're going to need the bounty hunter to come with them and answer some questions.
This scene certainly sheds some light on how the Galaxy operated after the fall of the Empire; clearly, the New Republic did what it could do police that, but it's hard to escape the feeling they're out of their depth...it also feels a lot like they're throwing their weight around, albeit in a less sadistic manner.
Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim's Convenience) plays one of the pilots, while The Clone Wars showrunner Dave Filoni reprises his season one role!
