The Mandalorian Season 2: 10 Biggest Moments And Reveals In "The Passenger"

5. "Zero" Returns

The Child

Clearly, this frog-like alien the Mandalorian is transporting needs to keep her eggs warm, but Din Djarin just doesn't seem to get that. Telling her to settle down for the night, she clocks the remains of Zero (Q9-0), the villainous, smart mouth droid from last season voiced by Richard Ayoade.

That was part of the crew the bounty hunter was forced to join during that jailbreak, and he was destroyed when Din gunned him down (moments before he was going to seemingly kill The Child).

The passenger is able to repurpose the droid to speak to Mando, explaining that she's willing to do whatever it takes to protect her young and isn't willing to watch them die (which would snuff out her family line once and for all). This inspired the kind-hearted Mandalorian to set to work on repairing the ship, but what about Zero?

While the droid still appears to be inactive, this could very well have opened the door to some sort of return, and despite what later happens to the ship, Zero's fate is left a mystery.
