If you are a Star Wars super fan, then the EU reference that got you gasping and shouting in joy the most, bar none, was when Ahsoka said the magic word:

Thrawn.

Grand Admiral Thrawn is the best Star Wars villain. I'm pretty sure there was a debate about this at some point long ago, but it is long past settled. From the books, to the games, to the TV appearances like Rebels and soon the Ahsoka Tano show, Thrawn has proven himself to be incomparable to all the rest.

Created by science fiction legend Timothy Zahn, Thrawn is a cast out commander of the Chiss Ascendency, and the Grand Admiral of the Imperial fleet. He is calculating, staggeringly intelligent, genuinely polite and respectful - even downright charming at times - but ruthless if you make an enemy of him. Very much the Tyrion Lannister of the Star Wars universe, it's no shock that he survived the fall of the Empire.

It was only a matter of time before Thrawn found his way to the main canon, he's too great a villain not to. And this author personally cannot wait to see Ahsoka match wits with the greatest tactician in the Empire.
