The Office: 10 Best Cameos You Won't Forget

3. Idris Elba

Idris Elba played Charles Miner, Michael Scott's new boss for a whopping six episodes in season five. The office had a rollercoaster relationship with Charles, but nobody more so than Jim Halpert. Charles single-handedly made Jim appreciate what it was like to have Michael as a boss - cracking the whip on Jim's performance with regular check-ups and "rundowns" - and some of us still wondering what on earth a rundown is.

Charles shakes up every scene he's in playing seemingly a stony-faced character in an otherwise comedy sitcom. Charles expresses his love for soccer to which Jim tells him he loves the sport in a bid to earn his respect. Jim's dedication to gain Charles's verification slowly grinds him down to a shell of his former coolest-guy-in-the-office self.

Eventually Charles' control of the paper company declines when Michael starts the 'Michael Scott Paper Company' and begins poaching Dunder Mifflin's biggest clients. This lead to a hilarious business proposal scene between the pair.

When Charles leaves the company, we see a smug Michael interrupting Charles' leaving speech, just like he did to Michael. Ahh, so satisfying.
