In the late-season seven episode "Dwight K. Schrute, (Acting) Manager," Dwight becomes Dunder Mifflin's interim regional manager, and if you pay close attention, you might notice that Andy is uncharacteristically wearing a boring, short-sleeved shirt throughout the episode.

The reason? This is a callback to the season three episode "The Merger", where a newly-transferred Andy mentions that he will employ the psychological tactic of "personality mirroring" - among other things - in order to become number two of the branch. His exact quote:

"I'll be the number two guy here in Scranton in six weeks. How? Name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake."

Obviously, dressing like Dwight is a subtle attempt to win his favour, because people are drawn to others who they can see a little of themselves in.
