When it was first announced that modern day British sitcom favourite The Office was being spun into a US series, so many people scoffed at the idea that such a phenomenal piece of television could be mirrored, let alone bettered.
To the credit of all involved in The Office US, the series took what made its UK cousin so successful and completely and utterly ran with the ball.
Of course, part of the charm of the US incarnation is that its characters were just so damn entertaining. And not always in the best possible way, for some of the faces seen in the series made you forever cringe while simultaneously having you laughing along.
In terms of favourite characters, it’s impossible to look past Steve Carell’s Michael Scott, Rainn Wilson’s Dwight Schrute and John Krasinski’s Jim Halpert. So often intertwined in each other’s greatest (and worst!) moments, this trio provided so much of the sturdy base on which The Office US was built.
